About Me

Yunyi (Jason) Zhu is currently a third-year PhD candidate at the UNSW School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, supervised by Prof. T. David Waite and Dr. Yuan Wang.

My recent research focuses on developing ML-driven, AR/VR-enabled Digital Twins for performance prediction and optimization of environmental technologies, with a particular emphasis on time-series modeling and causal inference of performance deterioration during long-term operations of water and wastewater treatment plants.

My research motivation is to leverage skills and technology to transform how humans perceive and interact with the environment and the world. I am driven by my curiosity to explore the intricate interplays of biological, physical, and chemical processes in both natural and engineered systems.
