About Me
Yunyi (Jason) Zhu is currently a final-year PhD candidate at the UNSW School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, supervised by Prof. T. David Waite and Dr. Yuan Wang.
My recent research focuses on developing Digital Twins that integrate mechanistic insights, data-driven models, and IoT systems for real-time performance monitoring, prediction and optimization of environmental technologies, with particular emphasis on performance deterioration during the long-term operation of water and wastewater treatment infrastructure.
My research motivation is to leverage skills and technologies to transform how humans perceive and interact with the environment and the world around them. I am driven by a strong curiosity to explore the intricate interplay of biological, physical, and chemical processes in both engineered and natural systems.
